LG's LoadSense and Sensor Dry cycles estimate load size and moisture, so overloading and underloading both lengthen cycles. Steam cycles need the water supply to be open and the inlet filter clean; an E05 code is a steam water supply fault. Unplug the dryer for a minute to reset the controls, and call service for heat or drum faults.
Most LG dryer faults are airflow faults in disguise. LG's Flow Sense system reports vent restriction as d75, d80, d90 or d95 on the display, and a dryer that runs for a long time, feels very hot or shuts off early is usually pushing air through a clogged vent. Heat codes, written tE, point to a temperature sensor and are less often an owner repair, while a dryer that will not start at all should be checked for a tripped breaker, a closed door and the Control Lock setting.
Steam and sanitary cycles need the water supply turned on and the inlet screen clear, and some LG dryers are connected to the ThinQ app, which can show the same code as the dryer and send an alert. The lint filter should be cleaned after every load, the lint trap housing and the duct once a year, and the machine should sit level with a short, straight vent. Faults in the heater, the motor or the control board are for a technician.
If the dryer is connected to the ThinQ app, the app shows the same code as the display and may suggest the next step, so it is worth opening when the dryer shows something you do not recognize. Remember that the app's remote start needs the door closed and the Remote Start setting turned on at the dryer.
