Which units this covers, and how to tell yours is one of them
Every answer below is scoped to these model identifiers. A neighbouring model in the same line can use a different part, a different reset sequence or a different radio, so matching the identifier before following a procedure is the step that decides whether the rest of the page applies to you.

- PHS930Y*
- What that covers
- GE/GE Profile/Café cooking appliance; fuel, convection, induction, air-fry and smart controls vary.
- Not applicable to this hardware
- This GE Profile PHS930 induction range does not have the hardware for: gas burner clicks but will not light; electric or radiant burner will not heat correctly. Those symptoms have no page here for this model rather than a page that guesses.
Published specification
What is true of this model and changes how you fix it
These are the properties that decide which procedure applies. Each is read from the manufacturer’s own published figures for this model, not carried over from a sibling that shares its retail name.
- Cooktop — INDUCTION (magnetic cookware only)
- A GE Profile INDUCTION cooktop — heats the pan directly by magnetism, so it works ONLY with magnetic cookware (a magnet must stick to the base). Aluminium, copper and glass pans make NO heat and trigger a no-pan/error. The glass stays relatively cool and heat is instant. A 'burner won't heat' is very often the wrong cookware, not a fault.
- Oven — electric
- Electric oven with convection and No-Preheat Air Fry on most builds. No-heat is the element or control.
- Features
- SmartHQ Wi-Fi; induction is fast and responsive — rapid boil and instant off are normal. A faint humming or the cooling fan on high power is normal induction operation.

Exact questions
Questions that only have an answer for the GE Profile PHS930 induction range
Each answer below uses this model’s own published figures. The same question asked about a different model in the line has a different answer, which is why it is answered here rather than on a general page.
My GE Profile PHS930 induction cooktop won't heat my pan.+
Check the cookware first — induction only heats magnetic pans, so if a magnet does not stick firmly to the base, the cooktop will not heat it (aluminium, copper and glass do not work). The pan must be centred and large enough to be detected, or the burner flashes a no-pan error. Test with cast iron or a pan marked induction-compatible. Humming or a fan on high power, a cool surface, and instant on/off are all normal induction behaviour, not faults.
Structured depth, not empty permutations
Every published record carries a direct answer, scope, ordered fixes, risk notes and sources.
Device and manufacturer hubs share a consistent record system, but each answer carries the relevant controls, fault boundaries, consequences and official support entry point for that platform.
