GE ranges and wall ovens: Profile, Café and SmartHQ
GE sells ranges and wall ovens under the GE Profile and Café names, from the JS760 slide-in electric range and the P2S930 dual-fuel range to the PTS7000 and CTD90 wall ovens, and the directory lists them by model. The type matters before the fault: an electric range, a dual-fuel range with a gas cooktop and an electric oven, and an oven-only wall oven each fail differently.
On a dual-fuel range, a gas burner fault is the igniter, the cap or the gas supply, while an oven fault is electric, so do not mix them up. On an electric range, a cold oven is a tripped breaker, an element or the control. A wall oven has no burners, and a dead one is often its own breaker. Displays that freeze reset at the breaker, and a clock that is wrong has lost power or Wi-Fi time.
GE puts the label on the frame inside the oven door. SmartHQ pairs on 2.4 gigahertz, and the oven must have Remote Enable on to start from the app. Wipe spills before a high-heat clean and keep the kitchen ventilated.

The type decides the checks: a gas cooktop that clicks without lighting has a burner or igniter issue, a smoothtop element that is slow to heat may be worn, and a wall oven problem is usually the door, a lock or the control.
Keep spills off the cooktop and the oven floor, since burnt-on food is behind much of the smoke and smell that owners complain about. The self-clean cycle locks the door and heats the oven very hot, so remove racks and loose food first, ventilate the kitchen and wait for the door to unlock before you wipe the ash.
