Why does my Roomba 600 clean so randomly and miss spots?+

The 600 series navigates by bumping into things and turning (bump-and-go), not by mapping the room, so it deliberately cleans in a semi-random pattern and relies on time and coverage rather than a planned route — it is not lost or faulty. Give it enough time per room, clean its dual brushes and side brush of hair (the 600's brush design tangles more than newer models), empty the bin often (no self-empty base), and it will cover the floor. For mapped, room-by-room cleaning you would need an i-series or newer.
