Every Haier front-load washer code: what it means and what to do

Haier front-load washer code bLoC PunP

Water that is not draining from the tub.

Check the house drain and the washer's drain hose for clogs and kinks.

Clear any blockage in the house drain, straighten or clear the drain hose, then unplug the washer and look in the drain pump's large-item filter for a clog. A pump that is defective is replaced.

Haier front-load washer code CLrF

Too much suds in the tub.

Check how much detergent was used.

The washer adds water and tumbles gently to clear excess suds. Use the right amount of high efficiency detergent next time to avoid a repeat.

Haier front-load washer code ErLC or ErUL

A door lock failure, with ErLC and ErUL both pointing to the lock.

Unplug the washer before checking the door lock connections.

Reseat loose connectors on the door lock assembly, replace a damaged harness and, if the harness is sound, replace the lock assembly.

Haier front-load washer code Err7

A motor speed error, which means the drive motor is not turning at the speed the control asks for.

Unplug the washer and check the wiring at the drive motor.

Reconnect loose wires, replace a damaged harness and, if the wiring is sound, replace the drive motor.

Haier front-load washer code Err8

An overfilled washer.

Unplug the washer and see whether water keeps coming in.

If the tub continues to fill with the washer unplugged, the water inlet valve assembly is stuck open and is replaced.

Haier front-load washer code EUAr

A communication failure between the display board and the power board.

Unplug the washer and look at the harness joining the two boards.

Reconnect loose connectors and replace a damaged harness. If the harness is sound, replace the display board, and if the fault persists replace the power board.

Haier front-load washer code no tAPS

A washer that is not filling.

Open both water supply valves behind the washer all the way.

In winter, look for frozen fill lines, and check the drain setup in case water is siphoning out. If the supply is fine, the water inlet valve assembly is replaced.

Haier front-load washer code PF

A supply voltage below 93 volts AC.

Unplug the washer and look at the power cord.

Replace a damaged power cord. If the cord is fine, an electrician should repair the supply to the washer's outlet.

Haier front-load washer code Unb

An unbalanced load.

Open the washer and look at how the clothes are sitting.

Redistribute the load so that it is spread evenly, then restart the washer.

Haier front-load washer codes and first checks

A Haier front-load washer shows letter-and-number codes for water, drain, door and motor faults. For water or drain codes, check that both taps are open, the hoses are not kinked, the drain filter is clear and the drain hose is correctly placed. For a door code, close the door firmly and check that the latch is clean. Unbalanced loads and shipping bolts left in a new washer cause noise and spin faults.

Switch the washer off at the outlet for a minute and run a short cycle. A code that returns after these checks points to a valve, a sensor or a board and needs a technician. Quote the model number from the label inside the door.

Haier's front-load washers share several parts with others in the group and use a standard pump filter at the lower front. If a code appears, take a photo of the display and the label inside the door, and keep the model number in your phone. Because the drum is small on compact models, large loads cause imbalance. Wash fewer items at once, and put heavy items such as towels together with lighter ones to balance the load.

Haier's front-load washers include compact models for apartments and full-size ones, and the codes name the usual areas: water inlet, drain, door, unbalance and the motor. A compact washer has a small drum and a light frame, so unbalance is the most frequent complaint. Washing a few items together with a towel or two evens the load, and a level floor reduces shake.

Detergent use is the second cause of trouble. A front-load washer uses little water, so suds do not rinse away easily, and too much detergent leaves residue and triggers extra rinses or a drain code. Use HE detergent, measure it and use less for a small load. Run a hot clean cycle monthly with a washer cleaner, and wipe the door gasket and leave the door ajar to prevent odors.

If a code appears, note whether it came at the fill, the wash or the spin. A fill code points to the taps and the hoses, a wash code to the motor or the load and a spin code to balance or the drain. The pump filter at the lower front should be cleared every few months. Keep the model and serial from the label inside the door for a service call.

Do Haier washers need shipping bolts removed?

Yes, front-loaders have transit bolts that must be removed before use or the drum shakes badly.

Why does a compact washer shake?

Large or lopsided loads unbalance a small drum.
