If the dryer actually doesn't heat, unplug the dryer and replace any defective heating system components. If the dryer does heat, measure the temperature sensor resistance using a volt/ohm meter. Haier HDY dryer codes and first checks
A Haier dryer that stops early, will not heat or shows a code usually has an airflow or sensor problem. Clean the lint filter, check the vent hose and the outside hood for lint and kinks, and make sure the dryer is not overloaded. A dryer that runs hot and then stops may be tripping its safety thermostat because of poor airflow.
Unplug the dryer for a minute and restart it with a small load. Condenser and heat pump models also need their condenser unit and water container emptied and cleaned. A code that returns after these checks needs a technician.
Compact and apartment-sized dryers such as Haier's rely on short vent runs and a heating element sized for a smaller drum, so they are more sensitive to restricted airflow. Check the vent hose for crushing behind the unit, and clean the lint filter every load. If the dryer is a ventless or condensing model, it has a water container or a condensate drain that must be emptied; a full container can trigger a code. Check the manual to see which type you have.
Haier's HDY dryers are compact machines made for apartments, and they use either a vented exhaust or a condenser that collects water. Check the type before you read a code, since a ventless dryer reports faults about its water container and condenser that a vented one never shows. If the display shows a full container message, empty the container and check the drain hose, and if it shows a filter message, clean the lint screen and the condenser.
A compact dryer has a small drum, and a large load cannot tumble and takes much longer to dry. Keep loads to about half the drum, shake items out before loading and use the sensor dry setting rather than a long timed cycle.
