What works with Google TV

Google TV and Chromecast with Google TV connect to a TV by HDMI and to Wi-Fi or Ethernet through an adapter. They work with Android phones, iPhones, Google Home and many smart-home devices through the Google Home app, and with Chromecast-enabled apps for casting. Compatibility problems usually come from the TV's HDMI port settings, the network band and the app versions rather than from the device itself.

Google TV works with Google Cast, which lets an Android phone, an iPhone or a computer send video, music and photos to the TV from supported apps. Both the phone and the TV must be on the same network, and a guest network or a network with client isolation can block it. A TV that does not appear as a cast target usually needs the Wi-Fi checked, the Google Home app updated and the TV restarted.

Apps that cast need to support it, and some services limit casting on their lowest tiers. Bluetooth remotes and headphones pair with the TV in its settings. Check the TV's software update screen for the latest version.

Why can't my phone see my Google TV for casting?

The phone and the TV must be on the same network without client isolation. Check the Wi-Fi and restart both.
