• Drying — ProDry (fan + heating element)

• What the label tells you
  KitchenAid prints the model, KDTM704, and a serial number on a label inside the door. Use both for parts. KitchenAid's customer line also asks which color or finish you have, so mention it.
• Third rack and loading
  The KDTM704 has a third rack for flatware and small items. Place the items so that they cannot fall through and block the spray arm, and do not place tall items against the spray arm below. Check that nothing blocks the detergent door.
• Care routine
  Clean the filter often, run a dishwasher cleaner every month or two and wipe the door gasket. Use fresh detergent and rinse aid, particularly in hard water.
• Wash cycles and options
  KitchenAid's dishwashers offer cycles such as Normal, Heavy and a quick cycle, with options that raise the temperature or extend the dry. Pots and Pans-type cycles use more water and heat. Choose by the soil, and avoid Heavy for a light load.
• Cleaning the machine
  Wipe the door gasket and the edge of the tub, and remove the lower rack now and then to clean the filter and the sump. Run a dishwasher cleaner every month or two. If the machine has a drain pump noise, look for a broken glass piece or a bone in the sump.
