What is true of this model and changes how you fix it

These are the properties that decide which procedure applies. Each is read from the manufacturer’s own published figures for this model, not carried over from a sibling that shares its retail name.

Drying — Dynamic Heat Dry + auto-open (top tier)
The top LG combines a heat-assisted dry with the auto-open door for the best LG drying, including plastics. The door opening at the end is intentional; rinse aid still helps.
Wash & steam
QuadWash Pro and TrueSteam, Inverter Direct Drive motor (belt-less), flexible 3rd rack, stainless tub, very quiet.
Filter & codes
Manual filter must be cleaned periodically; LG codes — OE drain, IE fill, LE motor.

Questions that only have an answer for the LG LDPH7972 dishwasher

Each answer below uses this model’s own published figures. The same question asked about a different model in the line has a different answer, which is why it is answered here rather than on a general page.

My top-end LG LDPH7972 still leaves some plastics damp.+

Even with LG's Dynamic Heat Dry and auto-open door, plastics dry hardest because they do not hold heat — so a little dampness can remain. Fill and raise the rinse-aid dosage (it is the biggest lever for plastic drying), select the heat-dry/extra-dry option, leave the door open during the auto-open phase, and unload the bottom rack first so top-rack drips do not fall on it. That gets plastics as dry as a home dishwasher manages.
