LG range or oven oven door is locked and will not open

LG range or oven oven door is locked and will not open: allow full cooling and complete/cancel self-clean normally before diagnosing the latch. Scoped to LREL6325F.

On the LREL6325 the oven door locks in two cases: automatically during Self Clean, and whenever you turn on Lock Out. Hold CLEAR/OFF for three seconds and a melody sounds, Loc may appear and the lock icon blinks until the door has locked; hold it three more seconds to unlock. After Self Clean, LG says to allow about one hour for the oven to cool and to open the door only when the lock icon is no longer displayed, and never to force it, because forcing the door can damage the automatic locking system.

Model-specific

What is true of this model and not of its siblings

Self Clean cycles
Press Self Clean once for four hours (moderate soil), twice for five hours and three times for three hours, then START. The door locks automatically, after about 15 seconds, and unlocks when the oven has cooled; racks and the broiler pan must come out first.
InstaView
Knock twice on the center of the glass to light the oven without opening the door. It turns off after 90 seconds and is disabled during Self Clean, Lock Out and the initial power-up, and LG says loud noises or weak taps can affect it. The LREL6323 and LREL6321 do not have it.
Remote Start and Favorites
The manual lists Remote Start and three Favorite cook modes: Favorite 1 for bread at 375 °F by default, Favorite 2 for meat at 325 °F and Favorite 3 for chicken at 350 °F, all adjustable within their ranges. They run for up to 12 hours by default and appear alongside Air Fry and Slow Cook.
Oven light
The oven light is a standard 40-watt halogen appliance bulb. It comes on when the door opens, and with the door closed you press Light or knock twice on the glass to switch it. It goes off after 1 minute 30 seconds, and to change it turn off the breaker, let it cool, turn the glass cover counterclockwise, swap the lamp and refit the cover.
