What is true of this model and changes how you fix it

• Type — TOP-FREEZER (no through-door dispenser)
  A top-freezer refrigerator (freezer on top, fridge below) — the simplest, most reliable layout. It has NO through-door water or ice dispenser (top-freezers do not), so any 'dispenser' symptom does not apply to this model; you fill water and take ice from inside.
• Ice maker
  This model can have a factory automatic ice maker in the top freezer (verified), fed by a water line. If fitted, 'no ice' traces to the water line/valve, the ice maker being switched off, or the freezer temperature; if your unit has no ice maker installed, ice is made in trays instead.
• Cooling
  A single cooling system with the freezer on top. If the fridge is warm but the freezer is cold, the vent that passes cold air down to the fridge may be blocked by packed food or iced up from a defrost issue — clear the vent and do not overpack the top of the fridge.
• No dispenser
  Because there is no dispenser, any dispenser complaint does not apply to this model. You fill water and take ice from inside.
• The ice maker
  This model can have a factory automatic ice maker in the freezer, fed by a water line. If one is fitted, no ice traces to the water line or the valve, the ice maker being switched off or the freezer temperature; if none is installed, ice is made in trays.

• Where the fridge is cold
  In a top-freezer the coldest air enters at the top of the fresh-food compartment and the bottom shelves are slightly warmer. Keep milk and meat on the middle and lower shelves in the coldest place that does not freeze.
• A clean condenser
  The coil at the back or underneath should be vacuumed once or twice a year. A coil caked in dust makes the compressor run longer and warms the cabinet.
