Heat and fan noise are the main reports, and they come from blocked vents, dust in the intake or a process using the chip. Storage that fills fast on a machine used for video and music is the second, since it cannot be upgraded. Keyboards, mice and trackpads are chosen by the owner, so peripheral faults are pairing or power problems.
How to approach a fault
Give the Studio open air, check Activity Monitor, keep a margin of free storage and test accessories by cable. Run Apple Diagnostics if fans stay loud with an idle chip.
Ports and displays
Thunderbolt ports on the back and front drive displays and fast drives. A faulty cable or hub is a common cause of a black display or a drive that does not mount.
Updates and backup
Keep macOS updated and back up with Time Machine, since the internal drive is not user-replaceable.

My Mac Studio isn't as fast as I expected in some apps.+

Check whether the app is native to Apple Silicon. The Mac Studio's M2 Max/Ultra is extremely powerful for pro work, but an app still built for Intel runs through Rosetta 2 translation and cannot use the chip fully — look for an Apple Silicon/Universal version. Also, some workloads scale better on the Ultra's extra GPU/CPU cores than others, so a single-threaded task will not show the full benefit. It is not a fault; it is software optimization and workload type.
