Look at Apps and features, sorted by size, and uninstall programs you do not use; games and video editors are common space users. OneDrive can hold files that are marked to be always kept on the device; right-click a folder and choose Free up space to keep it in the cloud only. The Yoga's 2-in-1 design leads people to store large video and drawing files, so check those folders. Hibernation takes a file the size of a good part of your memory, and you can reduce it through the command line if you do not use hibernation, but only do so if you understand it.

The Yoga 9i Gen 9 uses a fast M.2 SSD, and a drive that is more than ninety percent full gets slower, so aim to keep ten to twenty percent free. If the drive is large and nothing stands out, use a tool such as the Storage view's larger-file filter to find the biggest files. You can move photos and videos to an external drive or a cloud service. If you want more capacity, Lenovo sells the laptop in several sizes, and the drive is not user-replaceable on every model, so check before you buy.

Contact Lenovo support with the serial number if the System files look unusually large, since a restore point or a failed update may be using it. The Yoga 9i 2-in-1 includes the Lenovo Pen and drawing apps, and notes, sketches and screen recordings made with them can add up. Check the Pictures, Videos and Documents folders, and also the Lenovo Vantage and Lenovo Welcome folders, which are small. The OneDrive setting Files On-Demand keeps files in the cloud and downloads them when opened; turn it on to save space. If you run Windows with several user accounts, each has its own folders, and the Storage page lets you see other users' usage when you sign in as an administrator.
