Google TV troubleshooting: issues split by app, Cast and network.
Google TV problems come from the app, from casting from a phone, or from the network. Decide which of the three your fault is, then follow the checks for it before clearing storage or resetting the device.
Google TV devices restart from Settings, System, Restart, or by unplugging the power for 30 seconds. Check updates under Settings, System, About, System update, and keep apps updated in the Play Store. If the remote stops working, replace the batteries, then hold the Back and Home buttons for a few seconds to repair it with the device.
Google Cast cannot find or connect to Google TV
Put the sender and Google TV on the same non-guest Wi-Fi, confirm Google Cast is enabled, update both devices, and restart them. Router client isolation or a VPN can block discovery even when both devices have internet access.

Check Wi-Fi and system updates, restart Google TV, force stop the affected app, then clear that app’s data only if you know the credentials. Factory reset is the last resort because it erases device data. Check whether the crash is in one app or in all of them, since one app points to that app and all apps point to the TV.

Check whether the network works on another device, restart Google TV and the router, install system updates, then test another app. Clear data only for an app-specific failure; keep factory reset as a last resort. Test the same video on a phone on the same Wi-Fi, which shows whether the stream or the TV is at fault.

Storage fills quickly on small models; Settings, System, Storage shows what is using space and lets you clear app caches. For network problems, join the 5 GHz network if the device supports it and move the router closer or use Ethernet through an adapter. For HDMI picture issues, test another HDMI cable and a different port, and turn off Match content frame rate to see whether a flicker comes from the display mode.
