- What owners run intoHeat while charging or gaming, storage that fills as photos grow, Wi-Fi and cellular issues after updates, and a case or protector that blocks Face ID. Its size makes it awkward in a pocket, so drops are a risk.
- How to approach a faultRestart, update iOS, check Battery Health and free storage, and remove cases and protectors to test. Back up before any reset.
- Face ID and casesKeep the notch clear of case edges and protectors, and clean the camera area. A scan in good light helps.
- SupportApple Support handles repairs and diagnostics with the serial number from Settings, General, About.
- Battery and sizeThe 14 Plus has the largest battery of its generation, which gives long run times, but also long charging times from a weak adapter. Use an adapter of about twenty watts or more with a Lightning cable for a faster top-up. The phone is larger and heavier than the 14, so a case with a grip reduces drops, and a larger screen shows more, so text size and display zoom in Settings, Display and Brightness, are worth adjusting.
- Everyday careWipe the Face ID camera area, keep the Lightning port clear of lint and avoid leaving the phone in a hot car, which shortens battery life. Update iOS when prompted and check Battery Health every few months; if maximum capacity falls below eighty percent, a replacement restores run time.
- Charging and accessoriesUse a certified Lightning cable, since uncertified cables can charge slowly or heat up. MagSafe chargers fit the back of the phone, and a case that is too thick weakens the magnet, so use a MagSafe-compatible case. If the phone charges slowly on a wireless pad, check that it is centered and that the case has no metal plate.
- Battery life and screenThe iPhone 14 Plus has the largest battery of its generation, and a drop in battery life usually comes from background activity, so check Settings, Battery for the apps using most. Low Power Mode reduces background refresh and some visual effects. The 6.7-inch screen is the same size as the Pro Max, so cases and screen protectors for it are made for the Plus specifically, and a wrong fit can lift at the edges.
- Satellite and crash featuresEmergency SOS via satellite and Crash Detection are available on this model. Crash Detection can trigger by mistake in a very loud environment or at a roller coaster, and you can turn off its calling in Settings, Emergency SOS. You can try the satellite demonstration in Settings, Emergency SOS, to see how it works before you need it.
