  People buy the Plus for endurance and then notice a battery that drops faster than expected. Almost always the cause is a background app, an always-on setting such as location for a weather app, or a weak cellular signal that keeps the radio working hard. A phone that sits on a MagSafe charger off-center also charges slowly and runs warm.
• How to approach a fault
  Open Settings, Battery and look at the last ten days by app. If one app dominates, restrict its background activity. Check Battery Health to see whether the cell has aged, then test with a fresh restart and the latest iOS.

  People often charge the Plus overnight on a pillow, in a thick case, or from a cheap adapter, and all three raise battery temperature. The simplest ways to keep the phone healthy are to charge it on a hard surface, use a certified adapter, and avoid running it below ten percent or leaving it fully charged in the sun. If the phone feels unusually hot while idle, restart it before assuming the battery is at fault.
