My Pixel Tablet sounds worse or acts differently off the dock.+
That is expected — the Pixel Tablet's Charging Speaker Dock has a much bigger speaker than the tablet itself and enables Hub Mode (photo frame, smart-home controls). Off the dock, you get the tablet's own smaller speakers and the standard tablet experience, so the audio is quieter and Hub Mode features pause. It is not a fault; the dock is what turns it into a smart display/speaker. It is also Wi-Fi-only, so it has no mobile signal.
Why does my Pixel Tablet stop charging at 90 percent on the dock?+
It is a battery-protection behavior when docked. Open Settings, Battery and choose Charge to full to charge all the way.
