Samsung TV apps not loading: use this order

Cold boot the TV, update its software, reinstall only the affected app, and reset Smart Hub last. Menu names vary by model year and region.

Direct answer

Start with a cold boot, then check for a TV software update. If one app is affected, reinstall that app. Reset Smart Hub only after those steps fail because it signs you out of every app on the TV and requires the account credentials again.

What this covers

  • Samsung Smart TVs, smart monitors and projectors with an app that freezes, crashes or will not load
  • Tizen-based interfaces with Support and Apps menus
  • One app or several Smart Hub apps

What it does not cover

  • ×A provider-wide streaming outage
  • ×TVs with no network connection at all
  • ×Hardware failure, blank screen or power failure

  1. Cold boot the TV

    Reversible

With the TV on, hold the remote’s Power button until the TV turns off and the Samsung logo appears again. If that method is unavailable, unplug the TV for about 30 seconds and reconnect it.

  2. Install the latest TV software

    Reversible

Open Settings, choose Support, then Software Update and Update Now. The exact path can vary slightly by model year and region.

  3. Reinstall the affected app

    Signs you out

Open Apps, choose Settings, select the affected app and choose Reinstall. On interfaces that allow deletion, delete and reinstall it. Confirm you know the app login before proceeding.

  4. Reset Smart Hub only as the last software step

    Reset / data risk

Depending on the model: Settings › Support › Device Care or Self Diagnosis › Reset Smart Hub. Enter the TV PIN when asked. The default is often 0000 unless it was changed.

Common follow-ups

Why is only one Samsung TV app not working?+

When other apps and the internet connection work, the affected app’s stored data, session or current version is the more likely fault domain. Reinstall that app before resetting all of Smart Hub.

Does resetting Smart Hub delete TV settings?+

It resets Smart Hub and signs you out of the apps used on the TV. It is different from a full factory reset, but you should have the Samsung and app login details ready.

What if the Delete option is gray?+

Samsung’s support guidance says a recommended app may not offer Delete. Select Reinstall when that option is available.
