• Stereo pairing & groups
  Two Nest Audios can be a stereo pair, and it can join speaker groups for multi-room audio — if only one plays, check the pair/group setup in the Google Home app. No microphone/camera privacy switch beyond the mic mute for the assistant.

  Runs on Google Assistant via the Google Home app; some Assistant features are shifting to Gemini over time via updates.

  Set-up that stalls at the phone-finding or Wi-Fi step, an Assistant that ignores Hey Google because the microphone switch is off or Voice Match is not trained, and speakers that need a factory reset after a router change.
• How to approach a fault
  Check the microphone switch lights, restart the speaker by unplugging it for ten seconds, restart the router and look at the speaker's status in the Home app before a factory reset.
• Stereo pairs and groups
  Two Nest Audio speakers can pair as a stereo pair and join groups for multi-room music, and a group that misbehaves is best rebuilt in the Home app.
• Reset and resale
  A factory reset removes the speaker from your Home. Remove it in the app first when selling it so the new owner can add it.
• Placement and sound
  The Nest Audio is a fabric-covered speaker with a large woofer and a tweeter, tuned to adjust its sound to the room, and it sounds best with space around it rather than pushed into a corner or a bookshelf. Put it on a stable surface, away from the edge, and near a power outlet; it has no battery. Placing two together as a stereo pair gives a wider sound, and the Google Home app sets the pair. If the sound is muffled, move it away from the wall and check that the fabric is not covered, and avoid cleaning with liquids.
• Setup and common faults
  Setup runs through the Google Home app and needs Wi-Fi on the same network as the phone, and a speaker that drops its connection should be tried on the 2.4 GHz band if the router separates them. Voice commands depend on the microphone being on; a switch on the back turns it off, and the lights show the state. To reset it, follow the factory reset steps for the Nest Audio on Google's help pages. Keep the speaker updated through the Home app, since the updates arrive automatically while it is idle.
