Can the LG B5 do 144Hz for PC gaming?+

No. The B5 tops out at 120 Hz. All four of its HDMI ports are full 2.1 with VRR, ALLM, G-Sync and FreeSync at up to 4K 120 Hz, but 144 Hz and 165 Hz are reserved for the 2025 C5 and G5. A PC that only offers up to 120 Hz on a B5 is showing the panel's real limit.

Why is my B5 not as bright as a C5 or G5?+

That is expected — the B5 is LG's entry 2025 OLED with a standard evo panel and the Alpha 8 processor, without the Brightness Booster and Tandem/MLA panels of the higher models. It is the same perfect-black OLED, just a lower peak-brightness tier, so it is not a fault.
