Connectivity — the reason to buy it: The Ultra is the only Roku player here with an Ethernet port, plus its fastest (Wi-Fi 6) wireless and a USB port. For buffering or drop-out problems, a wired Ethernet connection to the Ultra is the single most effective fix and is unique to this model in the range.
HDR — full Dolby Vision: Supports Dolby Vision, HDR10 and HDR10+ (the top HDR set in the Roku line). If Dolby Vision is not showing, the TV must also support it and the app must offer it — the Ultra is not the limit.

My Roku Ultra keeps buffering.+

The Ultra is the one Roku player with an Ethernet port — plug it into your router with a network cable and buffering from a weak Wi-Fi signal disappears. If Wi-Fi is your only option, it also has the fastest (Wi-Fi 6) radio in the range, so move it closer to the router or reduce obstructions. Because the Ultra is a player, the picture itself is produced by your TV, so a buffering problem is always network, not the TV.

Where are the picture settings on my Roku Ultra?+

There are almost none on the Ultra itself, because it is a streaming player, not a TV. Brightness, colour, local dimming and motion smoothing are all set on the television the Ultra is plugged into. The Ultra only decides the resolution and HDR format it sends; the panel adjustments live in your TV's own menu.
