Which units this covers, and how to tell yours is one of them
Every answer below is scoped to these model identifiers. A neighbouring model in the same line can use a different part, a different reset sequence or a different radio, so matching the identifier before following a procedure is the step that decides whether the rest of the page applies to you.

What is true of this model and changes how you fix it
These are the properties that decide which procedure applies. Each is read from the manufacturer’s own published figures for this model, not carried over from a sibling that shares its retail name.
- Panel — Mini-LED LCD, not OLED
- Sony's 2024 flagship Mini-LED LCD (VA panel) with a 22-bit backlight driver and far more dimming zones than the X95L. It has a backlight, so a faint halo around bright objects on black and raised dark-room blacks are normal LCD behaviour, not a fault — the opposite diagnosis from an OLED. Powered by the Cognitive Processor XR.
- Smart platform
- Google TV (not Tizen or webOS). Software update: Settings › System › About › System software update; screen sharing is Chromecast built-in and AirPlay 2. App and remote steps written for Samsung or LG do not map.
- Dolby Vision — yes
- Unlike Samsung TVs, Sony supports Dolby Vision (plus HDR10, HLG and IMAX Enhanced). A title showing only HDR10 here usually means the app or source is not sending Dolby Vision, not that the TV lacks it.
- Gaming / HDMI — 2 ports, one shared with eARC
- Only two of the four HDMI ports are HDMI 2.1 (4K 120 Hz, VRR, ALLM) — HDMI 3 and HDMI 4 — and HDMI 3 is also the eARC port. So a soundbar on eARC and a console both needing HDMI 2.1 must share those two ports; put the console on HDMI 4. It carries Sony's 'Perfect for PlayStation 5' Auto HDR Tone Mapping and Auto Genre Picture Mode.

Exact questions
Questions that only have an answer for the Sony BRAVIA 9 Mini LED TV
Each answer below uses this model’s own published figures. The same question asked about a different model in the line has a different answer, which is why it is answered here rather than on a general page.
Which HDMI ports do 4K 120Hz on the Sony BRAVIA 9?+
Only two of the four — HDMI 3 and HDMI 4 — are HDMI 2.1 and do 4K 120 Hz and VRR. The other two are HDMI 2.0. HDMI 3 is also the eARC port, so if a soundbar is using eARC there, put your console on HDMI 4. Use a certified Ultra High Speed cable and the TV will show 120 Hz/VRR once the source outputs it.
Why do I only see HDR10, not Dolby Vision, on my BRAVIA 9?+
The BRAVIA 9 does support Dolby Vision, so if a title is showing HDR10 the cause is upstream: the app's Dolby Vision option is off, the source device is not set to output Dolby Vision, or that title only offers HDR10. Check the app's playback settings and the source's HDR output setting; the TV is not the limit.
