  When the washer is moved, leave the door ajar and let the drum drain fully, and keep it upright. Before the first wash in a new place check the feet are level and that the door and the drawer close firmly, since a tilted washer fails to lock the door reliably.

  The ELFW7437 is a mid-range front-loader with a Perfect Steam option and a large drum. It shares many parts with the higher models, so the manual for either helps with a fault.
• Steam and long cycles
  A steam cycle adds water, heating time and sometimes a pause, so the time display may jump. Compare with a plain cycle before suspecting a fault.
• Door seal and drawer
  Wipe the door gasket after use and leave the door ajar. Pull the detergent drawer out and rinse it monthly, since a build-up of detergent causes smells and a poor rinse.
