Electrolux washing machines: drain, door, cycle length and care

A washer that will not drain needs its pump filter cleared and its hose checked at the standpipe. A door that stays locked is waiting for the drum to stop or for water to drain. Unbalance at spin is a load or levelling matter. Smells come from a damp seal and detergent drawer, which a monthly hot clean and an open door prevent. A long cycle is often a heavy load, cold incoming water or too much detergent, which adds rinses.

Electrolux puts the rating plate inside the door opening, with the model, the product number and the serial number. Quote all three. Use HE detergent only. Clean the pump filter every few months with towels and a shallow dish ready. Electrolux's support pages list manuals by the model on the plate.

Electrolux also builds washers sold under other names, so a manual or a part number you find online may belong to a different model than yours. Always use the product number on the rating plate rather than a name seen in a shop. The warranty period and the parts list depend on it. When you book a repair, ask whether the visit includes a diagnosis fee and what the parts warranty covers, and keep a copy of the invoice, because a repeat fault soon after a repair is usually handled under the repair's own guarantee.
