Electrolux ELFW7637 front-load washer does not dispense detergent, bleach or softener correctly

Electrolux ELFW7637 front-load washer does not dispense detergent, bleach or softener correctly: wrong product, dose, drawer parts, low pressure and leveling can imitate a failed dispenser. Scoped to ELFW7637A*.

The Electrolux ELFW7637 has either a three-compartment dispenser or the Adaptive Dispenser, and Electrolux's manual says detergent and softener may build up in the drawer and that residue should be removed once or twice a month. For a three-compartment drawer: pull it out until it stops, reach into the left rear corner of the cavity and press the lock tab, remove the inserts, detergent cup and covers, unlatch the back cover with the two rear lock tabs and the front clips, rinse everything with hot tap water and brush the recess. The Adaptive Dispenser is cleaned from the right rear lock tab. Electrolux's owner-support articles cover how to use the dispenser and the PODS option for detergent packs.

Model-specific

What is true of this model and not of its siblings

Detergent packs and PODS
Electrolux's troubleshooting table says a residue stain or a detergent pack that has not dissolved can come from adding more than two detergent packs to the compartment, from the PODS option not being selected when a detergent pack is used on select models, or from the pack not being placed in the PODS dispenser compartment. Use only HE detergent at the recommended dosage.
Residue stains and mildew in the drawer
Moisture in the washer, non-HE detergent and overdosing cause residue and mildew in the dispenser. The fix is to remove the drawer and inserts and wipe or rinse them with 3/4 cup of liquid chlorine bleach in a gallon of hot water, wearing gloves, then rinse well and repeat if needed, and to avoid overfilling the compartments.
