• Type & capacity
  5.0 cu. ft. mega-capacity FRONT-LOAD washer with a door boot/gasket. That gasket is the defining maintenance point: it traps water, lint and detergent, so odor, mildew and 'won't drain fully' complaints on this machine start with cleaning and drying the gasket fold and running Tub Clean, not with the drain pump.
• Motor — Direct Drive inverter (no belt)
  Like all LG washers it uses a belt-less Direct Drive inverter motor (10-year warranty). So a grinding, rumbling or loud-spin complaint is diagnosed at the drum/bearing and the load balance, never a slipped or worn belt — LG washers do not have one.
• Smart & wash features
  AI DD senses load weight and fabric to set the motion; TurboWash 360 uses jets for a sub-30-minute wash; Steam and Wi-Fi (ThinQ app) are built in. A cycle behaving oddly is often AI DD adapting to the load, and connectivity faults are a ThinQ/2.4 GHz Wi-Fi question.
• Drain hose height
  No higher than 96 in above the washer's bottom, with 66 in as the best height, and new hoses only.
• Cleaning schedule
  Dispenser drawer once or twice a month, door seal monthly with diluted bleach, Tub Clean monthly, and the drain filter and inlet filters when hard water clogs them.
• Wi-Fi
  2.4 GHz networks only, with ThinQ remote control and Smart Diagnosis.
• CL
  The CL message means Control Lock is on.
