Model-specific

What is true of this model and not of its siblings

App requirements
Bose app release 13.2.7 of 25 August 2026 needs iOS 17 or later or Android 13 or later; the 600 first shipped with app 6.x in 2022.
Firmware history
11.0.40 (7 April 2026) is bug and security fixes; 10.0.30 (8 July 2025) is compliance and performance; 10.0.26 (25 March 2025) added Saved groups, Spotify group targets, Atmos over Amazon Music and Chromecast, AI dialogue mode and Personal Surround.
Light bar meanings on the 600
Amber steady means setup mode, blue pulsing means discoverable, white means connected, and the bar blinks about 30 seconds while powering up.
What the 600 is
Five speakers, Dolby Digital, Digital Plus, TrueHD and Atmos formats, one HDMI input, one optical TOSLink, a USB input reserved for service, two voice microphones and an optional bass module. Sold 2022 to 2024.
Release history
The Smart Soundbar 600 was sold from 2022 to 2024 and started with firmware 2.0.7. Version 2.1.6 added Roku TV ready support, 2.2.0 fixed an LG TV HDMI audio fault, 3.0.17 added SimpleSync grouping from the remote and 6.0.6 added Apple Music via Alexa. Later notes cover HDMI-CEC improvements and Personal Surround.
HDMI-CEC behavior
Firmware 7.0.10 made the soundbar default to the TV source whenever the TV turns on, even if it was playing music by streaming or Bluetooth. If a TV does not send the power-on command, HDMI Power and Audio Option 3 or Option 7 in the Bose app is the documented adjustment.
Setup in brief
With the app installed and Bluetooth on, power the soundbar and wait about 30 seconds while the light bar blinks, then it glows amber. Choose Smart Speakers, Soundbars and Amps, pick your network, name the soundbar, decide on sharing, connect HDMI to the ARC or eARC jack, connect any bass module and optionally set up Alexa.
Router settings
Bose recommends UPnP, multicast and IGMP enabled, wireless isolation and MAC filtering off, WPA-2 with AES, a fixed channel rather than Auto and a Wi-Fi mode of Mixed or B/G/N. It suggests trying channel 1, 6 or 11 and turning WMM off, and to note the current values first so changes can be undone.

Stop boundary

When this stops being a self-service repair
