What is true of this model and changes how you fix it
- Official specifications9 speakers total (6 transducers + 2 upward-firing dipole for height), 5.1.2 Dolby Atmos channel layout. HDMI eARC, Optical, Ethernet and ADAPTiQ ports; Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, AirPlay 2, Chromecast, Spotify Connect.
- Type — Atmos smart soundbar (WiFi + eARC)Bose's flagship soundbar with Dolby Atmos and Bose's AI Dialogue/Immersive processing. Connects to the TV by HDMI eARC and to the network by WiFi (streaming, voice assistants, Bose app). 'No TV sound' is the eARC/HDMI-CEC link; streaming/app is WiFi.
- Voice & appHas built-in voice assistants and uses the Bose Music app for setup and streaming. Pairs with Bose surrounds and the Bass Module 700 wirelessly.
- eARC + CECFor TV audio, use the eARC/ARC port and enable HDMI-CEC on the TV; power-cycle both to fix a lost handshake.
- What owners run intoReports include no sound after an input change, an eARC link that drops and a remote that stops controlling the TV volume.
- How to approach a faultUse the eARC port on the TV, enable HDMI-CEC and update the soundbar in the Bose app.
- Connecting it correctlyUse the HDMI port on the TV marked eARC and enable HDMI-CEC and eARC in the TV's settings. A soundbar plugged into another HDMI port may play stereo only or nothing.
- Atmos and formatsAtmos plays only when the source supports it and the TV passes it through. If Atmos does not play, set the TV's digital output to Auto or Dolby Atmos and test with a stream that has Atmos.
- Remote and updatesKeep the soundbar updated through the Bose app. If the volume buttons on your TV remote stop working with the soundbar, re-learn the remote in the app or enable CEC.
- Getting Atmos to workAtmos needs an eARC link, a TV that passes it through and a source that carries it. Check the TV's audio output setting, the player's settings and the Bose app, which shows the format being received. If the display says Dolby Digital, something in the chain is downmixing.
