Every Canon PIXMA printer code: what it means and what to do
Canon PIXMA printer code 1600
Support code 1600: if the lamp on the ink tank is flashing, ink may have run out, per Canon's MX920 series manual.
Look at which ink tank lamp is flashing.
Canon's own action: replacing the ink tank is recommended. If printing is in progress and you want to continue, press the machine's OK button with the ink tank installed, and printing can continue, but replace the tank after printing because the machine may be damaged if printing continues under the ink-out condition. If several ink lamps flash red, check each tank. A received fax is not printed in this condition: it is stored in memory until the ink is replaced, and you must print it manually.
Canon PIXMA printer code 1682
Support code 1682: the FINE cartridge cannot be recognized, per Canon's TS3300 series manual.
Reseat the FINE cartridge.
Canon's own action: replace the FINE cartridge. If the error is not resolved, the FINE cartridge may be damaged, so contact your nearest Canon service center to request a repair.
Canon PIXMA printer code 1684
Support code 1684: the ink tank cannot be recognized, per Canon's MX920 series manual.
Check that the ink tank is installed properly and is compatible with the machine.
Canon's own action: printing cannot be executed because the ink tank may not be installed properly or may not be compatible with this machine, so install the appropriate ink tank. If you want to cancel printing, press the machine's Stop button.
Canon PIXMA printer code 1686
The remaining ink level cannot be detected.
Check cartridge seating and whether the cartridge was refilled.
Replace it or use only the documented ink-monitor override with its stated risk.
Canon PIXMA printer code 1688
Support code 1688: the ink has run out, and the lamp on the ink tank flashes, per Canon's MX920 series manual.
Identify which ink tank lamp is flashing.
Canon's own action: replace the ink tank and close the ink cover, because printing under this condition may damage the machine. To continue printing anyway you must release the remaining-ink detection function by pressing and holding the Stop button for at least 5 seconds and releasing it, which the machine remembers, and Canon says it is not liable for malfunctions caused by continuing to print with the ink out. If that function is disabled, the ink tank appears gray in the remaining-ink screen. Received faxes are stored in memory instead of printed until the ink is replaced.
Canon PIXMA printer code 1700, 1701
Support code 1700: the ink absorber is almost full, per Canon's MX920 series manual.
Note the code and press OK only if you need to finish a print job.
Canon's own action: press the machine's OK button to continue printing, then contact the service center about the absorber.
Canon PIXMA printer code 5100
Support code 5100: a printer error has occurred, per Canon's MX920 series manual, which ties it to paper or protective material stopping the print head holder from moving.
Cancel printing and turn off the machine.
Canon's own action: turn off the machine, clear the jammed paper or protective material that is preventing the print head holder from moving, and turn it on again. Be careful not to touch the components inside, because the machine may not print properly if you do. If the problem is not resolved, contact the service center.
Canon PIXMA printer code 5200, 6000, 6500 and C000
Support codes 5200, 6000, 6500 and C000: a printer error has occurred, per Canon's MX920 series manual.
Turn off the machine.
Canon's own action: turn off the machine, unplug its power cord, plug it back in and turn it on again. Unplugging deletes any faxes stored in memory. If the problem is not resolved, contact the service center.
Canon PIXMA printer code 5B00, 5B01
Support code 5B00: a printer error has occurred, per Canon's MX920 series manual, which gives no owner step for it.

Canon PIXMA printer code B200
Support code B200: an error requiring you to contact the service center has occurred, per Canon's MX920 series manual.

Canon PIXMA printer code E02
E02, support codes 1000, 3442, 3443, 3444 and 3445: the printer is out of paper, or printing one side is complete if you are performing manual duplex printing, per Canon's TS3300 series table.
Load paper.
Canon's own table says that if the printer is out of paper the action is under support code 1000, and for manual duplex printing you prepare to print the other side following the instructions on the computer screen.
Canon PIXMA printer code E03
E03, support codes 1203 and 1300: the cover is open during printing (1203), or paper is jammed when feeding paper from the rear tray (1300), per Canon's TS3300 series table.
Check whether the cover is open, then whether paper is jammed.
Canon's own table sends you to support code 1203 if the cover is open and support code 1300 if paper is jammed.
Canon PIXMA printer code E05
E05, support codes 1401, 1403, 1430 and 1485: the ink cartridge cannot be recognized, per Canon's TS3300 series table.
Check that the color FINE cartridge is installed properly on the left side and the black FINE cartridge properly on the right side.
Canon's own table's checks: the left and right positions above, and the model number of each FINE cartridge. If that does not resolve it, replace the FINE cartridge with a new one.
Canon PIXMA printer code E08
E08, support codes 1700, 1701, 1712, 1713, 1714 and 1715: the ink absorber is almost full, per Canon's TS3300 series table.
Note the code and stop unnecessary cleaning cycles.
Canon's own table sends you to the support code for the action, and Canon's MX920 page for the same support code says to press OK to continue printing and to contact the service center.
Canon PIXMA printer code E13
E13, support code 1686: the ink may have run out, per Canon's TS3300 series table. Canon's 1686 page says the printer has detected an issue with one or more color ink cartridges.
Identify the color cartridge the printer flags.
Canon's own 1686 steps: to print or copy, either disable the remaining-ink detection for the flagged color cartridge by pressing the printer's Stop button for at least five seconds and releasing it, which lets you print or copy until the ink is used up though image quality may be lower when ink is low, or open the cover and replace the flagged color ink cartridge.
Canon PIXMA printer code E14
E14, support code 1684: the ink cartridge cannot be recognized, per Canon's TS3300 series table.
Confirm the exact cartridge number.
