Epson EcoTank lights: how to read the pattern
An EcoTank printer reports most of its problems through three lights: the ink drop, the paper and the Wi-Fi. A steady light means a condition you can usually fix, such as low ink or an empty paper tray, while a flashing light means the printer is waiting for you or has a fault. The pattern is the combination: a flashing Wi-Fi light means the printer is not connected to the network, a flashing paper light means a jam or no paper, and the ink and paper lights lit together can point to a maintenance box that is nearly full, which is the pad that collects waste ink. Note the pattern before you switch the printer off, because a restart can clear it.
Work from the easy causes to the hard ones: check that the tanks are filled to the right level, that the paper is loaded and no scrap is stuck in the path, and that the cover is closed. For Wi-Fi, press the Wi-Fi button to clear the error and run setup again. If the ink and paper lights stay on after the checks, the maintenance box needs replacing, and Epson support or a service center should do it.
What does a flashing paper light on an EcoTank mean?
There is a paper jam or the tray is empty. Remove jammed paper carefully and reload.
Why are the ink and paper lights both on?
Epson uses that combination for maintenance box and similar service messages. Check your model's guide, and contact Epson if the lights stay on.
