Epson printer lights and messages

Epson inkjets signal faults through the display message, the flashing lights and the status monitor on the computer. EcoTank models flash their Wi-Fi, ink and paper lights in patterns; a flashing Wi-Fi light means the printer cannot connect to the network, and pressing the Wi-Fi button clears the error before you retry setup. Check the printer model, since the lights mean different things on different series, and keep the Epson software updated.

Besides the lights, Epson workforce printers show messages on their screens, and EcoTank models use the combination of the ink, paper and Wi-Fi lights to report a fault. An ink light and a paper light that stay on together can mean an ink pad is near the end of its life or a cartridge is not recognized, while a Wi-Fi Direct light that flashes means the printer is trying to connect.

Run the printer's own nozzle check, update the firmware through the printer or Epson software and keep ink above the lowest line. A message about the ink pad or a service life reached needs Epson support, since the pad is inside the printer.

What does a flashing Wi-Fi light on an Epson EcoTank mean?

It cannot connect to the network; press the Wi-Fi button to clear the error and set up again.

What does it mean when the ink and paper lights are both on?

Epson uses combinations of lights to report faults. Check the pattern against the EcoTank guide for your model.
