JennAir wall oven error codes

JennAir wall oven codes as JennAir Product Help lists them, each with its meaning and the first safe check.

JennAir wall ovens, in single, double and steam-and-convection versions, show a fault as an F code with a number or as a message on the control, and the code names the circuit that failed. This page lists the codes JennAir documents with each one's meaning and the first check, and it separates the messages that are only states from the codes that need a part.

The oven is hard-wired, so reset at the breaker: off for a minute, then on. Find the model number on the frame, on the left or right edge when the door is open. A steam or a combination JennAir oven has extra circuits, such as a steam generator or a water reservoir, and codes for those exist only on those models.

Wipe the glass control dry, check that no key is stuck and cool the oven if it has just finished a clean cycle. A sensor or lock code that appears after a clean usually clears once the oven has cooled; a code that returns with the oven cold names a part.

A JennAir wall oven deserves a proper repair. Stop for burning smells, sparking, or any wiring work.

JennAir wall ovens include steam and connected models, which is why their code list is different. F7 E0 to F7 E4 name the steam oven's water level, boiler sensor, filter or conductivity sensor, and the first check is the water reservoir and the filter. FC E1 and Registration Error mean the Wi-Fi module could not connect, or the number typed at registration was wrong. Demo Mode means the oven is in a store demonstration mode with the elements off, and it is turned off from the Tools, Info menu. Sabbath Mode shows as Sab, 5Ab or 5A7.

A JennAir steam and convection oven has a water system that other wall ovens lack: a reservoir, a boiler, a filter and a conductivity sensor. A steam code is usually about water: an empty or badly seated reservoir, a filter that needs cleaning, or mineral scale in the boiler on a hard-water home. Check the reservoir first, then the filter, then reset the power. If the oven is connected, its Wi-Fi module has its own FC codes and its own registration step.

Wall ovens are the JennAir product where a wrong first move costs the most, because the oven is wired to the home and a technician's time starts at the door. Do the free things first: cool the oven, switch its breaker off for a minute, read the display once more and write the code down with the model number from the oven frame. A code that returns after that is a part, and the most useful sentence to give a technician is which cavity was in use and what the oven was doing.

Why does my JennAir steam oven show codes the others do not?

Steam models have a generator and a reservoir with their own circuits and codes.

Is the JennAir model number on the frame?

Yes, on the left or right edge of the oven frame with the door open.

What should I check first on a JennAir steam oven code?

The water reservoir and the filter; a badly seated or empty reservoir is the commonest cause.

What is Demo Mode on a JennAir oven?

A store demonstration mode with the heating elements off; it is turned off from the Tools, Info menu.

What should I tell a JennAir technician?

The exact code, the model number, which cavity was in use and what the oven was doing when it stopped.
