If there is no light, unplug the cord, wait a minute and plug it in again. Hold the power button for a few seconds. If the console powers on for a moment and shuts down, the fan may be blocked or the temperature too high, so check the vents. A console in rest mode that does not wake may need to be switched off fully by holding the power button until you hear the second beep, which may start Safe Mode, from which you can restart. If the screen is blank but the light is white, the problem is the HDMI cable or the TV;

try another HDMI port and cable, and change the TV input. Try a different power cord, since a failed cord is cheap and easy to swap. If a disc is stuck or a drive is faulty, the console may not start properly, and you can try holding the eject button. Do not open the console. If the console shows no light with a working outlet and cord, the internal power supply may have failed, and Sony repairs it under warranty. Have the serial number from the label, and the proof of purchase, when you contact PlayStation support.

The disc-drive PS5 stands vertically or horizontally, and the power cord connects at the back with an easy-to-miss clip, so check the connection after moving the console. If you hear the fan or the disc drive spin and the screen stays black, the problem is the picture rather than the power; the HDMI cable and the TV's input matter more. A console that shuts off by itself after a minute may be showing a heat or power problem, and its status light will flash blue then orange. Try unplugging for a full minute, then plugging in and pressing power once. If you can reach Safe Mode, choose Restart PS5 from there. Keep the receipt and serial number for any warranty request.
