  Netgear's own current listing names the router unit 'Orbi WiFi 6 Router AX6000' — a tri-band Wi-Fi 6 class (no 6 GHz), one tier below the 960's AXE11000 Wi-Fi 6E class and well below the 970's Wi-Fi 7 quad-band architecture.
• Wi-Fi 6 tri-band MESH
  A Wi-Fi 6 (AX) mesh with a dedicated backhaul band (tri-band), 2.4/5 GHz for clients (no 6 GHz — that is 6E/7). Multiple units cover a large home; weak rooms mean a satellite is too far.
• Mesh backhaul
  Satellite offline/slow is usually the wireless backhaul — place within range or wire it. No 6 GHz band (generation limit).

  Units placed in cupboards, on top of electronics or in direct sun overheat, so give each air around it.
• Setup basics
  Set up the router first, then add satellites one at a time near the router before moving them to their final places.
• Placing the satellite
  An Orbi satellite should be about halfway between the router and the weak area, not in it. A satellite placed where the signal from the router is already poor passes on that poor connection, so look at the LED on the satellite, which should show a good link to the router.
• The dedicated backhaul
  Orbi uses a separate wireless link between the router and its satellites so that your devices do not compete for it. Walls, mirrors and metal cabinets weaken that link, which is why a clear line of sight helps more than a nearer position.
• Updating and rebooting
  Keep the firmware current in the Orbi app and restart the system by powering the router first, waiting for its light to turn steady, and then the satellites. Restarting in the wrong order leaves a satellite searching for the router.
