What is true of this model and changes how you fix it
- Official specifications10.0 ppm black / 5.0 ppm color — the slowest EcoTank in this catalog, marginally under the ET-2850's 10.5/5.0. First page out 10s black / 16s color. Ink bottles rated 4,500 black / 7,500 color pages, up to 2 years of ink included. No fax, no second tray (entry tier).
- Type — entry refillable INK TANK all-in-one (EcoTank)The entry cartridge-free EcoTank inkjet AIO (print/scan/copy) — refillable ink BOTTLES for very low cost per page.
- Initial charging & refillsFirst setup charges the head with starter ink (normal). Refill keyed bottles when low; don't run tanks dry. USB and Wi-Fi (basic).
- ConnectivityWi-Fi/USB via Epson Smart Panel; 'offline' is usually a Wi-Fi drop or wrong queue.
- Paper and sizeA 100-sheet rear-loading tray, 14.8 x 23 x 10.3 in and 8.8 lb, with a 1.4-inch display.
- Reviewer notesDigital Trends praised photo quality on glossy, semigloss and matte paper with no color cast; other reviewers said the rear tray and noise could be better.
- Label and modelThe ET-2800 is an EcoTank all-in-one. Its serial is on a label on the back. Epson's support asks for the model and serial.
- Filling the tanksThe tanks are at the front, behind a cover. Fill each one with its own color of ink, to the upper line. Do not overfill. Wipe drops from the bottle neck.
- Keeping nozzles healthyPrint a page every week to prevent dry nozzles. Run a nozzle check before cleaning. Cleanings use ink, so run only a few.
- Setting upOn first use, the printer charges its ink. Pour in the ink and follow the screen. Do not interrupt the process. The first charge takes about twenty minutes.
- TroubleshootingIf lines are missing, run a nozzle check and a cleaning. If paper does not feed, check the tray and the paper type, and clean the feed roller with a damp cloth.
- Warranty and suppliesKeep the receipt for Epson's warranty and note the serial. Epson's site lists the correct ink bottles. Store bottles upright, and keep them capped.
- Printing from a phoneUse the Epson Smart Panel app or the phone's built-in printing to print over Wi-Fi. If the phone does not find the printer, check that both are on the same network and that the printer is not in a power-saving state.
- ScanningThe ET-2800 has a flatbed scanner. Place the page face down against the corner mark. Scan from the printer's panel or from the app. If the scan is faint, clean the glass with a dry cloth.

Questions that only have an answer for the Epson EcoTank ET-2800
My Epson EcoTank ET-2800 print is faded after sitting unused.+
Idle EcoTanks clog like any inkjet — the ink dries in the printhead. Run the Nozzle Check then Head Cleaning from the Epson Smart Panel or the printer, printing the nozzle pattern to see improvement; if a standard clean does not clear it, run Power Cleaning (which uses a lot of ink, so only as a last resort). Confirm the tanks were not run dry. Printing something weekly keeps the head clear on this entry tank printer, which is otherwise very cheap to run.
