Which units this covers, and how to tell yours is one of them

Every answer below is scoped to these model identifiers. A neighbouring model in the same line can use a different part, a different reset sequence or a different radio, so matching the identifier before following a procedure is the step that decides whether the rest of the page applies to you.

Published specification

What is true of this model and changes how you fix it

These are the properties that decide which procedure applies. Each is read from the manufacturer’s own published figures for this model, not carried over from a sibling that shares its retail name.

Panel — Mini-LED ULED QLED
Hisense's 2024 flagship: a Mini-LED QLED (ULED) with more than 2,000 local-dimming zones and extreme peak brightness. A backlight, so a faint halo around bright objects and raised dark-room blacks are normal LCD behaviour — but with this many zones it controls them very well.
Smart platform — Google TV
Runs Google TV (US models). Update at Settings › System › About › System update; Chromecast built-in. Not Roku, unlike the Hisense R6.
Gaming / HDMI
Native 144 Hz with HDMI 2.1, VRR, ALLM and FreeSync Premium Pro (Game Mode Pro / 288 Hz booster). Supports Dolby Vision IQ, HDR10+, HDR10 and HLG. Enable Game Mode for the input.

Questions that only have an answer for the Hisense U8N Mini-LED TV

Each answer below uses this model’s own published figures. The same question asked about a different model in the line has a different answer, which is why it is answered here rather than on a general page.

I see blooming around bright objects on my Hisense U8N.+

Some blooming is normal on any Mini-LED LCD, because it lights the picture with a backlight rather than self-emissive pixels — but the U8N has one of the highest zone counts here (2,000+), so it controls halos far better than lower Hisense models. Setting Local Dimming to High tightens it further. It is a characteristic of the panel, not a defect.

Structured depth, not empty permutations
