Amana range error codes
Amana range codes as Amana Product Help lists them, each with its meaning and the first safe check.
Amana ranges keep the controls simple, and the codes they show are correspondingly few: an F code with a number for a failed circuit, and plain messages such as a locked door. This page lists the codes Amana documents for its ranges, each with its meaning and the first check, so you know whether you are looking at a message that clears itself or a part that has failed.

Open recordAmana range codes and what they usually mean
Write the display down exactly and find the model number on the frame behind the oven door or on the storage drawer frame. On a basic Amana range a code often points at the oven temperature sensor, the keypad or the door lock, because those are the circuits the control watches. A single stuck key can post a code, and pressing every key once is a free test.
Let the oven cool completely and cycle the breaker for a minute. For a sensor code check that the probe inside the oven is not touching the wall; for a lock code let the lock finish its travel; for a keypad code dry the panel and press each key.
Because Amana ranges are priced for value, the question after a diagnosis is whether the part is worth it; a sensor or a lock usually is, a failed control on an older range may not be. Stop for gas smell, sparking or any need to work in the wiring.
Older Amana controls show two-digit F codes, and that is what owners search for here. F1 to F6 on those controls name the oven temperature sensor, the oven control or the door latch, and the way to find out is to reset the power for a minute and write down which code returns. Lo, Pre, ES, E5 and Demo Mode are states, not faults: the oven is below 170 degrees or preheating, Energy Save is active, or the store demonstration mode is on with the elements off. Locked, Lock or Loc means the Control Lock is on, and holding the lock key clears it. Call Service and Press Cancel to Reset mean the control detected a fault or a key sequence it could not run.
Amana ranges are priced for value, and the controls are correspondingly basic, so there are few places for a fault to hide: the oven temperature sensor, the door latch, the keypad and the control. That makes the quick checks decisive. Press every key once to free a stuck one, reset the power for a minute, and read which code returns. If an older two-digit F code returns after a power reset it names one of those components, and the page for that component is where to go next.
What does a stuck-key code on an Amana range mean?
The control sees a key held down. Dry the panel and press each key once.
Is an Amana oven sensor worth replacing?
Usually, yes. It is a modest part, and it is the most common cause of temperature codes.
Which Amana range codes are not faults?
Lo, Pre, ES, E5 and Demo Mode are states: low temperature, preheating, Energy Save and the store demonstration mode.
Is it worth replacing an Amana oven sensor?
Usually, because it is a modest part and the most common cause of a temperature code.
