What is true of this model and changes how you fix it
- ConnectivityConnects to the ADT Base over the DECT ULE protocol — a different radio from the proprietary RF ADT's other battery sensors use, named explicitly in ADT's own article.
- PowerThree AA lithium batteries, included — a different battery format from any other ADT Blu sensor, which all use CR123A, CR2 or CR2450 cells.
- MountingShips with a stake/post for yard installation and a separate mounting bracket for wall mounting.
- AlertsNotifications about it are set in the app's notification preferences and in the rules that control it. A rule that was edited can silence an alert or send it twice.
- OfflineA light switched off at the wall switch looks offline to the system, so check the switch before the network.
- GatewayRestart the router first, then the gateway, and allow about five minutes for the gateway to reconnect.
- Phone settingsIf alerts never reach you, allow notifications for the app on the phone and turn off any Focus mode that hides them.
- Shared accessAnyone with access to the account can switch the light, so unexpected activity can be a family member; the activity history shows the time and user.
- TestingSwitch the light from the app, watch it respond and confirm the alert arrives, especially after changing phone or number.

Exact questions
Questions that only have an answer for the ADT Live Light
What radio does the Live Light use to talk to the Base?+
ADT names it directly: the DECT ULE protocol — a different radio from the proprietary RF used by the door/window, motion, glassbreak and other battery sensors in the ADT Blu lineup.
What batteries does the Live Light take?+
Three AA lithium batteries, per ADT's own parts list — every other ADT Blu battery sensor uses CR123A, CR2 or CR2450 cells instead, so AA batteries are not interchangeable with the rest of the lineup.
Why does my live light ignore the app?+
It may be offline or switched off at the wall.
Where do I set its alerts?+
In the app's notification preferences.
Why did the light come on by itself?+
A rule, a schedule or another user may have triggered it.
How long does the gateway take to restart?+
About five minutes.
