Reading an LG dehumidifier's CH codes and its two common warning lights
Most LG dehumidifier codes begin with CH, and they fall into three groups. CH 01, CH 02 and CH 03 are electronic faults involving the humidistat or the main board; LG's remedy is to unplug the unit for about 20 seconds and restore power, and a code that comes straight back means the dehumidifier needs repair. CH 24 is a pressure switch error, and LG's advice is to make sure the air filter is clean and that nothing blocks the air flow around the unit. CH 67 is a fan lock error: unplug the dehumidifier for about three minutes, then power it up and listen for the fan. A bare CH code that LG ties to a refrigerant leak has no home fix at all.
Two ordinary warnings are easy to mistake for faults. If the Bucket Full light stays on after you emptied the tank, the float inside the bucket is probably stuck; seat the bucket firmly and give it a gentle shake to free the float. The Check Filter light comes on after roughly 350 hours of running, and it clears after you wash the filter and put it back.
Can I fix a CH 24 error myself?
Often. Clean the air filter, clear anything blocking the intake and exhaust, and restart; if the code returns, the unit needs service.
Why does my LG dehumidifier say bucket full when it is empty?
The float in the tank can stick. Re-seat the bucket and gently shake it, then check the light again.
