• A communication error between the dispenser and the display: C1 shows and the dispenser is unresponsive, which points to a communication error between the dispenser and the display. LG says the C1 code indicates a communication error between the dispenser and the display

Demo mode, also called Display mode: cooling is disabled in both the refrigerator and freezer sections to conserve energy while the unit is on display in a store. LG lists it among the codes that may appear but do not indicate a fault.

Confirm both compartments are warm and the display shows OFF or OF F.

LG's steps to turn it off: open the door on the refrigerator side, hold down the FRIDGE button and at the same time press Express FRZ 3 times. On some models, hold FRIDGE and Express FRZ together for 3 seconds instead. A sound tells you the setting has been deactivated.

• Demo or Display mode is on: OFF or OF F shows and both compartments are warm. LG says this setting disables all cooling in both sections to conserve energy while on display in a store
• Two panel buttons held down together by accident: OFF appeared after someone pressed and held two panel buttons while cleaning or moving items. Use the button combination LG describes and listen for the confirmation sound as the display changes
