Traeger AC pellet grill code 510-rtd-controller-connection
There is a bad connection point between the RTD and the controller. This appears only on Elite Digital Controllers, most commonly the BBQ124 Professional and BBQ125 Executive.
Unplug the grill and remove the two Phillips-head screws holding the controller.
Loosen the flathead brackets that hold the RTD wires in the green box, disconnect the wires completely, reconnect them and tighten the brackets (Traeger says the wires can go back in any order or direction), refit the controller, plug the grill in and turn it on. If the error still shows, Traeger says to contact Customer Support.
Traeger AC pellet grill code er2-rtd-failed
The RTD probe, which is the grill's temperature sensor, has failed.
Traeger's fix is to replace the RTD, and it says to contact Customer Support to verify the diagnosis and order the part.
Traeger AC pellet grill code er3-er5-ignitor-disconnected
The grill's ignitor is disconnected.
Unscrew the four screws at the corners of the controller, carefully pull the controller away from the grill, make sure the connections are secure, disconnect and reconnect the wires, then turn the grill on and see whether the error returns. If Er5 still shows, Traeger says to contact Customer Support.
Traeger AC pellet grill code er4-induction-fan-disconnected
The induction fan has been disconnected.
Check the fan connection: if the hopper has a bottom service panel, unscrew and remove it, then find the draft induction fan by following the orange wires to it and check that it is connected. If the fan is connected but Er4 still shows, Traeger says to contact Customer Support.
Traeger AC pellet grill code er6-auger-disconnected
The auger has been disconnected.
Traeger's fix is to replace the auger motor, which means removing the controller, the hopper assembly, the auger's bushing screw and the shear pin before disconnecting the old motor and connecting the new one; its article lists each step. If Er6 still shows afterwards, Traeger says to contact Customer Service.
Traeger AC pellet grill code er7-auger-jammed
The auger has jammed.
With the grill idle, press and hold the DOWN and IGNITE buttons at the same time.
The display flashes Clr and the auger cycles forward and backward for 60 seconds to clear the jam. Holding the same two buttons again stops the sequence early. If more help is needed, Traeger says to contact Customer Support.
Traeger AC pellet grill code err-er1-rtd-connection
The controller has a bad connection to the RTD probe, or the probe is completely disconnected from the control panel.
Traeger's fix is to reseat the RTD wires: remove the two Phillips-head screws holding the controller, loosen the flathead brackets on the green box on the back of the controller, disconnect the RTD wires from the box, put them back and re-tighten the brackets, refit the controller, then plug the grill in and turn it on. If Err or Er1 still shows, Traeger says to call Customer Service.
Traeger AC pellet grill code minus-41-startup-reading
The ambient temperature reads -41 degrees at startup, which Traeger says typically happens on older AC grills.
Traeger lists two causes, a damaged or misbehaving RTD or a controller that is not working correctly. Its fix is to replace the RTD, and if a new RTD does not resolve it, to replace the controller with the one its grill guide names for that model.
