  The smaller Pro attracts students and travelers, so the faults reported here are about portability: a cover that folds awkwardly and stops the keyboard working, a charger that is too weak to charge while the iPad is in use, and storage filling with downloaded video. The 256 and 512 gigabyte models have 8 gigabytes of memory, which limits very large projects.
• How to approach a fault
  Check for pending updates, restart, and then test a different cable and power source. For Wi-Fi faults, forget the network and rejoin before resetting network settings.
• Finding your exact model
  Settings, General, About shows the model number. The 11 inch iPad Pro of 2024 has a different body from the 2022 11 inch model, so old cases and keyboards do not fit, and the number tells you which cover to buy.
• Carrying and traveling
  At about 444 grams it is easy to carry daily, and the small size makes it a good tablet for trains and planes. Cellular models include an eSIM, which lets you add a data plan while traveling without a physical SIM, set up in Settings, Cellular.
• Storage and memory choices
  The 256 and 512 gigabyte models have 8 gigabytes of memory, and the larger models have 16. If you edit video or use many apps, the extra memory helps; if you mainly read, write and browse, the smaller models are enough. Check usage under Settings, General, iPad Storage before deciding whether to offload apps.
