  6.0-inch OLED display (90Hz), minimum 4,000mAh battery, 8GB RAM, Snapdragon 765G, 128GB storage. Single rear camera (no telephoto lens).
• Tier — older flagship (Snapdragon, NOT Tensor)
  The Pixel 5 predates Tensor — it uses a Snapdragon 765G (a mid-range chip), not Google's Tensor, so it lacks the newer Tensor-only AI features and is past its update window. Stock Android. Its limits are its age and pre-Tensor chip, not faults.
• No Tensor AI
  Tensor-exclusive features (newer Magic Editor, Audio Magic Eraser, on-device AI) are not available — that is the chip generation.
• eSIM
  Supports eSIM; connectivity issues are carrier/eSIM first.
• What owners run into
  The phone is no longer updated, the battery is worn and the 5G modem struggles on newer networks.
• How to approach a fault
  Replace the battery or the phone if it shuts off early, and keep it off charge when hot.
• Finding your model
  Settings, About phone shows the model GD1YQ or GTT9Q. The Pixel 5 is out of support.
• Wireless charging and battery
  The aluminum back allows wireless charging, and after six years the battery has lost much of its capacity. A battery replacement is the cure for early shutoffs.
• Whether to keep it
  The Pixel 5 still handles calls, messages and maps, but newer apps drop support and security patches have ended. Use it as a spare or replace it.
• Using an old phone safely
  A phone that no longer receives updates should not hold sensitive accounts such as banking. Use it for music, maps or as a spare, keep the apps few and avoid unknown downloads. If you rely on it for banking, plan to replace it soon.
• Wireless charging
  The Pixel 5's aluminum back allows wireless charging, but a case with metal or a thick back blocks it. Center the phone on the pad, remove cards from the back and use a pad that supports Qi. A phone that charges slowly on a pad may have a worn battery.
