What is true of this model and changes how you fix it
- Official specificationsPrint speed 20 ppm black / 10 ppm color (ISO) — a smaller, lower-throughput sibling of the 9015e/9025e in the OfficeJet Pro range.
- Type — INKJET all-in-oneA home-office inkjet AIO. Inkjet printheads CLOG if unused — faded/streaked output is usually a clog; run clean-printhead/nozzle-check. Print regularly.
- HP+ / '+e' — genuine ink + internetHP+: genuine HP ink, internet and enrolment; Instant Ink cartridges stop if the plan lapses; third-party ink rejected.
- ConnectivityWi-Fi/USB via HP Smart; 'offline' is usually Wi-Fi drop or wrong queue.
- Ink (from Consumer Reports and RTINGS)Four cartridges, HP 910 black, cyan, magenta and yellow, sold as standard 910 and high-yield 910XL. Consumer Reports estimated each cartridge lasts about 5 months at 22 text and 8 graphic pages a month, and put the yearly ink cost at $118.
- Model identificationThe OfficeJet Pro 8025e shows its model and serial on a label inside the cartridge area or at the back. HP Smart reads the printer's identity on setup. Use the product number from the label when you search for support.
- Ink and Instant InkThe printer uses HP 910 cartridges and can join HP's Instant Ink plan. If you use the plan, the printer must stay connected so that it can report usage. A non-HP or an old cartridge can trigger a message.
- Wireless setupUse HP Smart to set up the printer on a 2.4 GHz network if it does not find 5 GHz. If the printer drops offline, restart the router and the printer and check the signal.
- Scanning and faxingThe 8025e has an automatic document feeder and a flatbed. Scan from HP Smart or from the printer panel. If a scan fails, check that the printer and phone are on the same network. Faxing needs a phone line.
- Paper and jamsLoad paper with the guides snug. Use the paper type in the driver's settings. For a jam, open the rear door and pull out the sheet gently, then check for scraps with the cartridge area open.

Exact questions
Questions that only have an answer for the HP OfficeJet Pro 8025e
Can I use cheaper third-party ink in my HP OfficeJet Pro 8025e?+
No — because it is an HP+ ('e') printer, it only accepts genuine HP cartridges and rejects third-party or refilled ink outright, which is a condition of the HP+ program (in exchange for extra warranty/Instant Ink months). So non-HP cartridges will show an error and not print. If you want to use third-party ink, an HP+ printer is not the model for it; you would need a non-HP+ printer. Keep the printer online and use genuine HP ink.
