What is true of this model and changes how you fix it
- Official specificationsPrint speed 25 ppm black / 20 ppm color (Professional Mode, ISO), up to 39 ppm in General Office Mode. First page out as fast as 10 seconds. Two 250-page trays (500-sheet total capacity). 4.3-inch touchscreen. Dimensions 12.5 x 17.2 x 15.6 in, weight 26.1 lbs.
- Type — INKJET all-in-one (print/scan/copy/fax)A business inkjet AIO. Because it is inkjet, the printhead can CLOG if it sits unused — faded, streaked or missing colors are usually a clog, fixed by running the printer's clean-printhead/nozzle-check cycle a few times, not by replacing parts. Print regularly to prevent it.
- HP+ / '+e' — genuine ink + internet requiredThe 'e' means HP+: it REQUIRES genuine HP cartridges (third-party ink is rejected), an internet connection, and enrolment. It usually comes with Instant Ink trial months — if Instant Ink lapses or is cancelled, those subscription cartridges stop printing until resolved. This is a common 'cartridge suddenly won't work' cause on '+e' models.
- ConnectivityWi-Fi/Ethernet/USB via the HP Smart app; 'offline' is usually the printer dropping Wi-Fi (reconnect it / use 2.4 GHz) or the wrong queue on the computer.
- Ink (from HP Support's 9135e specifications)Four HP 936 cartridges (black, cyan, magenta, yellow), with HP 936e EvoMore versions also listed as orderable supplies.

Questions that only have an answer for the HP printers (OfficeJet Pro, ENVY, DeskJet, LaserJet Pro and Smart Tank)
My HP OfficeJet Pro 9135e cartridge suddenly stopped working.+
On an HP+ ('e') printer this is often the Instant Ink subscription — if the ink plan lapses, is cancelled, or the printer loses internet, the subscription cartridges are disabled until you resolve it or switch to purchased HP cartridges. Also, HP+ printers reject non-HP (third-party) cartridges entirely. Check your HP account/Instant Ink status, keep the printer online, and use genuine HP ink. If it is a genuine, active cartridge, reseat it and clean the contacts.
