ADT Keypad, Keychain Remote and Yale Assure Lock 2 will not complete setup or pairing

ADT Keypad, Keychain Remote and Yale Assure Lock 2 will not complete setup or pairing: power, reset state, owner account, Bluetooth/local permission and supported home network should be proved. Scoped to SKP5R0-01.

ADT's Keypad article gives the setup: the box holds the Keypad SKP5R0-01, a stand, a power supply, a Release Key and a lithium-ion backup battery, plus an optional wall bracket, screws and anchors. You need the ADT Base already set up and connected to the ADT+ app, a phone with Bluetooth and the same secure wifi network. Decide whether it sits on a desk or a wall. Open the app, make sure the system is Disarmed, and choose Devices, plus, ADT Device, Security Devices, Keypad, then follow the prompts.

The checks in more detail

Place it near an entry point, preferably in a different room than the Base. For the Keychain Remote, add it from Devices in the app and follow the prompts, with a CR2450 battery. For the Yale Assure Lock 2, add it as a Smart Home Device: Locks, Yale Assure Lock 2, Install Lock; the app links to an installation page in the Support Center and returns to finish the connection.

The lock is a Z-Wave device and needs the Self-Protect or Pro-Protect level, and another Z-Wave hub can prevent pairing. Measure your door before buying, since the lock does not fit every door. Test each device in Test Mode. Measure the door before you buy a lock, since a lock that does not fit is a costly mistake. If pairing fails repeatedly, the door rubbing on its frame is a common cause for locks.

Install when the door is in good order and you are not rushed. A lock added as a Z-Wave device needs the Self-Protect or Pro-Protect level, so if the option is missing in the app, check the plan before you check the lock. Have the Release Key from the Keypad box in a safe place before mounting it, since it is needed to remove the Keypad later.
