What is true of this model and changes how you fix it
These are the properties that decide which procedure applies. Each is read from the manufacturer’s own published figures for this model, not carried over from a sibling that shares its retail name.
- Panel
- 2024 entry OLED (traditional OLED, no evo brightness boost or MLA) with the Alpha 8 AI Processor — LG's dimmest 2024 OLED, but still perfect-black and self-emissive, so picture complaints are gradation/processing, not backlight clouding.
- Smart platform
- webOS 24 with the Magic Remote — same app store, update path (Settings › Support › Software Update) and AirPlay 2 / Miracast screen share as the C4/G4.
- Gaming / HDMI
- Four HDMI 2.1 ports with 4K 120 Hz, VRR, ALLM, G-Sync and FreeSync — but capped at 120 Hz, NOT the 144 Hz of the 2024 C4/G4. A PC limited to 120 Hz on a B4 is at the panel limit.

Questions that only have an answer for the LG B4 OLED TV
Each answer below uses this model’s own published figures. The same question asked about a different model in the line has a different answer, which is why it is answered here rather than on a general page.
Does the LG B4 support 144Hz like the C4?+
No. The 2024 B4 maxes at 120 Hz. It gained four full HDMI 2.1 ports with VRR, ALLM, G-Sync and FreeSync that year, matching the C4 on port count, but 144 Hz is reserved for the C4, G4 and M4. 120 Hz on a B4 is the real ceiling, not a setting to fix.
Structured depth, not empty permutations
