What is true of this model and changes how you fix it

• Panel — Crystal UHD entry LED
  Crystal UHD is Samsung's entry LED LCD tier — no quantum-dot QLED layer, no local dimming, an edge-lit backlight. Blacks are gray in a dark room and backlight uniformity/clouding is more visible than on QLED or Neo QLED; that is the limit of the tier, not a defect.
• No Dolby Vision
  HDR10, HDR10+ and HLG only — no Dolby Vision, like all Samsung TVs. (HDR is also very limited here because the panel is not bright enough to show much of it.)
• Smart platform / gaming — 60Hz, no VRR
  Tizen with Smart Hub. The decisive limit: the CU8000 is a 60 Hz panel with HDMI 2.0 — NO 4K 120 Hz, NO HDMI 2.1 and NO VRR. A request for 120 Hz or VRR is a hardware limitation, not a setting or a fault. Update at Settings › Support › Software Update.
• No 4K 120 Hz
  The panel is 60 Hz and the smaller sizes are limited to HDMI 2.0 bandwidth. Reviews say only the 85-inch has HDMI 2.1, so a PS5 or Xbox Series X set to 120 Hz will not get it on the smaller CU8000 sizes.
• Where the label is
  The CU8000 is a Samsung Crystal UHD TV, and the label sits on the back, near the connection panel. Samsung's service uses the model code on that label and the serial number.
• Panel type and viewing
  A Crystal UHD panel is an LED LCD with a backlight, so black levels depend on the room. Dim the room for films and use Movie mode for the most accurate picture. The set works well as a general-purpose TV in a living room.
• Remote and apps
  The remote uses Bluetooth and an infrared window. Pair it again by holding the Return and Play buttons if the TV does not respond. Apps update through the Smart Hub, so keep the TV connected to the network.
• Smart Hub and accounts
  The Smart Hub holds apps, and a Samsung account lets you sign in, use SmartThings and save settings. If an app is slow, clear its cache from Settings, Support, Device care, or reinstall it. A TV that is slow overall may need a restart or a software update.
• Connections
  The TV has HDMI ports, one with ARC for a soundbar, a USB port and an optical output on some models. Use the labeled ports and a good cable. If a device is not detected, unplug it and the TV for a minute and try another port.
