Open recordRoomba errors: how to read a number or a voice alert
Roomba robots report faults with a voice alert and a number in the iRobot app. Error 1010 means the robot cannot path back to its dock, error 13 means it is stuck on uneven ground and error 5 relates to a wheel. Common fixes are clearing hair from the brushes and wheels, wiping the cliff and dock sensors, rebooting by holding the Clean button and, for navigation faults, remapping. The model line, such as the i, j, s or 600 series, decides which chart applies.
Roomba reports errors with a spoken message, a number and a flashing light ring, and the numbers differ by series. The usual causes are physical: a stuck wheel, a full bin, a missing filter, a jammed brush or a dirty cliff sensor. Check the iRobot app for the exact message and the steps it recommends.
Press and hold the Clean button for about ten seconds to restart the robot, and clean the charging contacts on the robot and dock with a dry cloth. Update the app and the robot's software, and replace the filter, brushes and bin as the manual advises. Battery errors that return after cleaning and a restart point to a worn battery.
