Every LG air conditioner code: what it means and what to do
LG air conditioner code CH 00
A fault the unit wants inspected — LG's own framing. LG notes the error may be a temporary one caused by power instability or other electrical factors.
Note whether there was a recent power interruption or electrical work.
Unplug the power cord or switch the breaker off, wait 5 minutes and restore power — LG's own reset for this family.
LG air conditioner code CH 04
A drainage issue — LG's own wording: a malfunction of the indoor unit drain, or a condensate tank that is too full. On a ceiling-type unit LG states CH04 means condensate formed inside the indoor unit is not being drained.
Check whether the condensate tank is full or the drain is blocked.
Unplug the power cord or switch the breaker off, wait 5 minutes and restore power.
LG air conditioner code CH 07
Conflicting operating modes — LG's own wording. On a 2-in-1 heating and cooling system it appears when the standing and wall-mount units are set to different modes; on ceiling types, when units in different rooms run in conflicting modes.
Check what mode every indoor unit in the system is set to — LG's example is one room on cooling while another is on heating.
Set all indoor units on the shared system to the same mode.

A fan fault — LG's own split: CH10 and E6 are the INDOOR unit fan, CH67 and EF are the OUTDOOR unit fan.
Establish which code is shown; it tells you which unit to look at.
Check for debris or snow build-up around the indoor and outdoor fan components and remove it.
LG air conditioner code CH 237, CH 238
A power-configuration condition on models made after 2021 — LG's own explanation: the communication line configuration changed and each unit now has a separate power cord, so BOTH the indoor and outdoor units must be connected to power.
Check whether the outdoor unit's power plug is disconnected.
Connect both the indoor and outdoor units to power.
LG air conditioner code CH 38, F4
The air conditioner is low on refrigerant — LG's own wording. LG states the warning exists to protect the appliance from potential damage.
Note whether the error followed installation or relocation — LG states that points to a refrigerant shortage.
Contact the installing technician to inspect the unit.
LG air conditioner code CH 54
A reverse phase detection error — LG's own term. LG notes it may occur after a temporary power outage or electrical work.
Note whether there was recent electrical work on the supply.
Reset the air conditioner circuit breaker. If the error followed electrical work, LG directs you to tell the contractor specifically that it is a reverse phase detection error.
LG air conditioner code CH 61, P4, P6, P7, P8, CH 34
Overheating — LG's own wording: the outdoor unit overheating during cooling, or the indoor unit overheating during heating.
In cooling, check whether the area around the outdoor unit is well ventilated — LG names accumulated hot air as the usual cause.
Clear space around the unit so hot air is not trapped, then power-cycle.
LG air conditioner code CH 66
An issue with the communication line or the piping connection between the indoor and outdoor units — LG's own wording. LG describes it as a detection feature on inverter models.
Note whether the error appeared right after installation or relocation.
